- To nurture the child in a classroom community that fosters self-esteem, independence, self-discipline, cooperation, and love of learning.
- To foster an understanding of the Montessori Method of education, and assist parents in the education of their children so they may become a part of our school community.
- To help young children discover themselves as creative, self-motivated individuals who will become contributing members of the world community.
Cooperation and interaction are integrated into the classroom community as children move around conversing and working together. The children feel a sense of responsibility for themselves, others and their environment. The environment fosters the development of personal skills in sensitivity, grace and courtesy, conflict resolution and relating to others.
To establish, administer and operate an optimum Montessori community that enables each child to realize his or her maximum potential in an environment that supports the Montessori principles of respect and peacefulness.
At Montessori Community School we nurture awareness of the global community by welcoming people of differing races, cultures, genders, abilities, languages, economic and social backgrounds, political beliefs and religions.
